The meandering path of the Johnsonville Headquarters addition design represents the journey of continuous improvement. The journey is never straight, or as expected, so the path is irregular. Company culture is to show throughout facility, more collaborative spaces balanced with private spaces, natural light, views, soft, warm, cozy, accent colors, open and flexible seating, standing cubicles, conference rooms/meeting spaces that are flexible and collaborative for everyone, creating “spontaneous moments.”
Portions of the design work into the landscape, and in doing so, these elements are humble in stature, while other elements shoot out of the landscape in key locations. This design brings the outside into the building and provides inspiring views to the natural setting of a pond, wetlands, and orchard.
The interior design allows for flexibility and subtly reflects the rich history of the company with a forward focused, modern, and cutting-edge design. A natural outgrowth of company culture, team members desired café, wet bar, salad bar with lots of options, fitness center, on-site day care, training center and library, ping pong, virtual golf, space for new mothers, and member store.
The architectural forms are modern while using natural materials commonly found in a rural setting including wood, concrete, and stone. The modern forms reflect the company being a cutting-edge leader in their industry, while providing an environment to inspire all members.
